The Vancouver Community Concert Band (VCCB) is founded by Dr. Jim Rourk to promote community music throughout the Vancouver, WA area. During its early years, the group performed at various civic and patriotic events, neighborhood festivals, and many other local events.

The Clark County Marching Band (CCMB) is formed to serve as an ambassador and generate membership from those interested in the marching arts. In its inaugural season, the CCMB performed in two parades with ~25 participants.

In response to its rapid expansion, the VCCB establishes a new parent organization - Vancouver Music Organization. The new name demonstrates that we've become a collection of music ensembles and sets the foundation for further growth.
