Crafting connections through sound
The Vancouver Music Organization (VMO) is a collection of music programs aimed at bringing exciting and entertaining musical performances to our community and beyond. Our purpose is to provide musical performance opportunities for musicians of all ages and skill levels.
Founded originally in 2005 as the Vancouver Community Concert Band by Dr. Jim Rourk, we have since expanded our program offerings to include jazz, marching, and several chamber ensembles.
In 2025, the Vancouver Music Organization was established and a new governance structure was adopted. This represents our evolution into more than just a single ensemble. As such, we perform at various civic and patriotic events, neighborhood festivals, and many other local and regional events.

This all started with the Concert Band! Our Concert program allows us to perform classical and contemporary music year-round at local events and concerts!

Then, we expanded with the Jazz Band! Our Jazz program allows us to perform big band music dating back to the 1930's and 40's all throughout the year!

Now, we have our own Marching Band! Our Marching program takes music to the streets, performing in local parades and events during the summer!
